Welcome back!! Term 3 2011

As we embark on another term I thought I'd better update my blog.
Term 3 is set to be another exciting term with many activities and milestones to be celebrated.

A lot of work has continued over the holidays on the building project with the administration area soon to be complete. I have had a tour of the extended and renovated area and it looks great. The final stage of the building area is a state of the art administration facility that is what our Keilor Views Primary School truly deserves.

And we have grass, well artificial grass pretending to be real grass

The synthetic turf has arrived!!

The new FIFA rated soccer pitch is taking shape!

Our new synthetic oval has begun to take shape, only a few more weeks to go!

Writers Master Class

We have just begun our 'Writers Master Class' sessions with selected year five and six students who have a keen interest in polishing their writing skills. These students have been identified by classroom teachers and by school data.

The first series of master classes will be focused on narratives, we will look into the depths of the narrative genre and explore the possibilities in students writing. The first challenge has been set, to create a picture story book.

I have enjoyed working with the group during our first two hour session and can not wait to publish some of the work I have seen so far.

Administration and Staff-room refurbishment begins

As you may be now aware the Admin office area is now located in the old library and can be accessed through the door in the courtyard.

The demolition of the admin has begun and is now in full swing.
